Description

CHRP-2, also known as GHRP-2 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-2), is a synthetic hexapeptide extensively studied for its ability to stimulate the secretion of growth hormone (GH) through interaction with the ghrelin/growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R). This compound is structurally related to other GHRPs but is known for its stronger potency in GH release.

CHRP-2 is not to be confused with CHRP-6; while both are GHRPs, CHRP-2 is considered to induce a more stable and controlled GH spike in research models without significantly affecting appetite or cortisol levels.

Mechanism of Action

CHRP-2 binds to the GHS-R1a receptor, mimicking the natural hormone ghrelin. Upon binding, it stimulates the anterior pituitary gland to release growth hormone (GH) in a dose-dependent and pulsatile manner, mimicking endogenous growth hormone patterns.

This GH stimulation indirectly promotes increases in IGF-1 levels, offering insights into tissue growth, cellular regeneration, and metabolic regulation in experimental models.
